The Way of the Waters

The waters surge up

They roar

They crest and tumble upon themselves

Churning and churning …

Churning forever

Churning forever loud and urgent

One ocean thunders to another across the chasms

Message on the foam emblazoned

Rolling on and on

Rolling on forever

Rolling on, rippling out

Pebble-in-the-pond

Wave upon wave upon wave

Covering the whole earth

Never-ending

Never-ending noise

Designed to rouse

the ire of the gods

The gods scream quietly

But Man never slumbers entirely

In his vast numbers

The fountains of the deep are never silent

The earth forever heaves violently

Seeking change …

Seeking change, blind to danger

The ground rumbles

It groans and grumbles

Struggling to release

Self-destructive energy

Yearning to settle to a place of peace

Peace! Peace and Safety, Man cries!

And the voice of the waters continue to rise

Unceasing, urgent.  Pounding.

With a great roar it soars

to the heavens above

"How Long?" The cry resounds

The cry resounds

And Heaven responds

I have seen the oppression of the wicked

My heart is sickened

Behold I come quickly

To calm the waters

My sons and my daughters

Do not despair

The Lord of Hosts is here!

Peace! Peace! Be still!

The Waters shall obey my will.
