Serene

Serenity is a ship that sails

on the turbulent waves of a tempest,

on a journey to being anchored deep

in a harbour that sits still in the eye of a storm! 

Insistent Splendour

Have a splendid day;

Energised by the brightness of your resilience,                                                        

persistence and tenacious expectations within,                                                                    

thrusting and spiralling outward:

Like the radiance of the sun splintering and splattering

against the silhouettes of grey clouds!

Defiant Courage

Courage is defying the menacing

dread of dropping off a tightrope,

but defiantly tiptoeing forward!

Undying Courage

Courage is facing imminent death by a fanged,

sharp-clawed and roaring tiger,

And battling it with your bare teeth;

For to do nothing, but crumple into a curl,

would also result in your demise.

Constancy

Integrity is maintaining a steady temperature,

whether in the glaring sunlight or the shadows

of the overhanging leaves of trees!

Chicken Hope

Hope is a drenched chicken perched

on the lower limb of a breadfruit tree,

Sitting still through a thunderstorm

and awaiting the certainty

of the sun’s breaking and dawning;

so it could shake, dry and preen

its feathers!
